I hope you're doing well and are being as productive as possible during the "quarantine". Like most of you I was shocked and terribly disappointed to find out that we would not be meeting again, as a class, this year. You have been a joy to teach and I have/will truly miss spending time with you! I'm going to share some information with you about how we are going to attempt to have class going forward. Please realize that we teachers have not trained for this and most of us are making it up as we go. I'm appreciate your patience and grace as we try to figure this out.
Packets- Student work packets will be distributed next week. I have "boiled down" your remaining course work into what I feel is the most essential concepts for you to cover before moving on to Algebra II and beyond. If you would like feedback or clarification, snap a picture of your work and email it to me.
Teacher-made Videos- We have been discouraged to "live stream" any video content due to liability issues. But I plan to record some instructional videos to be watched alongside the work packets. These videos should be helpful but are you won't be required to view them in order to complete the assignments. I'll post the videos here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5DRYYvHe3TQXhYiREG1_Rw #likeandsubscribe :)
Khan Academy- I'm going to create a Khan Academy course. It will be filled with instructional videos and practice problems that you may work through. This will not be required but is just another tool to help you gain understanding of the material. This is the link to sign up for the Khan Academy course: https://www.khanacademy.org/join/FYCEPJRS
It is going to be difficult to "teach yourself" this material but: 1) You can do it! You kids are so smart and capable! I believe in you! 2)You are not alone! I'm here to help! Please reach out!
Also, this is my plan for now. It may not be a good plan, but it's what I have. If it works, great. If it doesn't, we will try something else. I want to make this as "user friendly" for you as possible.
Please let me know if you have any questions or how I can help you!
Students: Due to Copyright laws, I cannot make my learning packets available on the website. If you are unable to obtain a packet via pickup or bus delivery, please contact the school at 342-2755. Thanks and sorry for any inconvinience.
