Parent Information Guide Updates & Important Information
Every child will receive Student-Parent Information Guide for the 2018-2019 School Year. Parents, please take time to review this infomration with your child and return the Acknowledgement Form with your signature.
*All students will go to ADVISORY class first, unless told differently.
*The first bell rings at 7:55 am each morning. SIXTH GRADE students who arrive before 7:55 am should report to the sixth grade hall. SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADE students who arrive before 7:55 am should report to the gym.
*Breakfast is served each day, beginning at 7:30 am.
*MYSCHOOLBUCKS is an online payment service for adding money to your child's lunch account. Breakfast costs $1.50 each meal and lunch costs $2.90 each meal. Reduced prices are $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch.
*MIDDLE SCHOOL EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY is back! All middle school final exams will count 10% of the student's final grade. Remember, students cannot have any discipline for the year that results in detention, in-school intervention or suspension.
Students are exempt under the following conditions:
FOR SEMESTER COURSES
(two nine-week courses):.
*Possess an A average with 3 or fewer absences, or
*Possess a B average with 2 or fewer absences, or
*Possess a C with 1 or fewer absences.
FOR YEAR-LONG COURSES
(four nine-week courses):.
*Possess an A average with 6 or fewer absences, or
*Possess a B average with 4or fewer absences, or
*Possess a C with 2 or fewer absences.
*Tardies will be counted for each class. Of course, we will give students a few days to get adjusted to walking to classes.
FOR EACH CLASS:
*4th tardy, 6th tardy = After-School Detention
*8th tardy, 10th tardy, 12th tardy = In-School Suspension
Please note that failure to attend detention will result in suspension.

4th Checkout = After-School Detention
6th Checkout = After-School Detention
8th Checkout = In-School Intervention
10th Checkout = In-School Intervention
Checkouts are not distinguished as excused or unexcused. Exceptions will be made for a DOCTOR OR DENTIST OFFICE VISIT if the student brings a note from the doctor or the dentist.
