Mrs. Martha Roop

I was born and raised in Virginia. I like to say that I am Virginian by birth, but Alabamian by adoption. My wonderful husband and I have been married for 35 years. We have two beautiful daughters and are blessed with one grandson.

I began my educational career in the Special Education classroom. I taught 15 years in Virginia.  After moving to Alabama, I continued my education career with the Tuscaloosa County School System. After 24 years in the classroom, I began my administrative carreer at Myrtlewood Elementary School in 2006. I was principal there until I had the very unique opportunity to open a brand new school. In 2008, I opened Lake View Elementary School as principal, and it has been my home for the past 11 years.

I believe that Lake View has a wonderful community, and I value the parent involvment LVES has fostered. I truly love watching the students of Lake View learn and grow everyday.
