Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Pat Smith

Hi! I'm Pat Smith. I am a native of Athens, Alabama. I am married to my best friend, John Smith, aka Papa. We have 2 grown daughters, Stephanie and Whitney. We also have two wonderful grandchildren, Hunter and Madalyn.  They call me Mimi. I love spending time with family, watching Hunter play baseball and Madalyn with dance/gymnastics. Grandchildren are the BEST!! I love to garden and walk/run because being outside is so therapeutic!

I graduated from Athens State College with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education in 1994. I received my Masters in Elementary Education at the University of North Alabama in 2000. I also received my Educational Administration Certification at the University of North Alabama in 2006.

This is my 29th year in education and the last seven have been in the Tuscaloosa County School District. I taught first, fifth, and sixth grades in the Athens City School District before moving to Tuscaloosa. I have recently served as an Instructional Coach for the Northern Region of Tuscaloosa County School System. I am so excited to be serving as Principal at LVES!  I look forward to getting to know each student and family here. LVES strives in building relationships with our students and parents. If we get that right, students will soar! I truly believe that we have the best faculty, parents and students around!
