Where words fail, music speaks.

I have a great love and passion for music. I think it helps us to express ourselves in a way that cannot be replicated by any other means. In a song that I sang at the Tuscaloosa All County Festival when I was in high school, it says, "music builds a bridge, it can tear down a wall". Nothing compares to the feeling that is created when a group of people make music together. That feeling is why I do what I do. 

I am SO excited to be the assistant choir director at TCHS this year! I graduated this past May from the University of Montevallo with a degree in Choral Music Education. I grew up in the Tuscaloosa County School System and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 2018. Because of this, I am very passionate about music education for students in the Tuscaloosa area. While I loved every minute of my four years in Montevallo, I am so excited to be back home in the Tuscaloosa area.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with my family. Most of the students know me as Ms. Martin, but I got married over Christmas break! I can't wait for a great Spring semester with our wonderful students at County High.
