    • Course cards for next school year are coming home this week 9th and 10th grades will be distributed today. All cards are due back to advisory by Thursday, February 29th.  


    • Mu Alpha Theta, a national math honor society, is now accepting applications for current juniors and sophomores who are enrolled in, or have completed any level of Algebra 2. You must have an 80% average in all high school math classes to be considered for membership. Scan the QR code outside Mrs. Fuller’s room, room 1414, by March 9th. 


    • If you are in an AP science class or took Dual Enrollment Biology last semester and would like to attend the Science Day at the University of West Alabama on Wednesday, February 28th, please see Mr. Workman, Mr. McGee, or Mrs. Martz for a Fieldtrip FormAll forms and money must be returned today. 


    • The Spanish department is participating in the nationwide Locura de Marzo (or March Madness) music competition. Stop by and check out the 16 song bracket hanging outside Ms. Sturdivant’s room. There are codes to scan to listen to the playlist before voting begins on Friday, Feb. 23rd. (2/22) 


    • SENIORS- Great News! This week is Free College Application Week-round 2! This will be your last chance to apply for over 55 colleges/universities for FREE! The complete list of participating schools can be found on the TCHS Counselor's FaceBook page or you can stop by the English lab Wednesday and Thursday of this week if you need help! 


    • SENIORS: This is a reminder that completion of the FAFSA is a graduation requirement! Career Coaches and Counselors will be available in the English Computer Lab near the front office student window all day on Wednesday and Thursday of this week to assist anyone who needs help. If you have not already completed your FAFSA, please stop by to get started or to pick up an opt-out waiver. 


    • Students -March 1st is the last day to order your yearbook. You may order this year’s yearbook through My School Bucks.  


    • Seniors- March 1st is the last day to purchase a Senior Ad for the yearbook. Please use the Q-R Code posted outside of Mrs. Carden’s room to purchase your ad.  


    • OASIS is sponsoring a Clothing and Toy drive to benefit the TCSS Welcome Center during the month of February. Please bring gently used, clean toys and clothing of all sizes to room 2220 or room 1510.

    • Are you a current 10th or 11th grader who is interested in representing TCHS as an ambassador for the 2024-2025 school year?  Applications are outside of Mrs. Barkdoll’s room (2410) OR outside of Ms. Sweigard’s room (1503). Applicants must submit their typed resumes and responses to Mrs. Barkdoll or Ms. Sweigard by noon on March 6th. No exceptionsStudents who submit an application should make plans to attend a meeting in Mrs. Barkdoll’s room on Tuesday, March 19th at 7:20am.  You will receive information regarding the interview at that meeting.    


    • Have questions about Dual Enrollment or Career Tech courses for 24-25 school year. Mrs. Mac will be in the lunchroom Feb 22-28 to answer any questions 


    • Attention TCHS Juniors- A representative from Jostens will be on Campus February 28th during advisory regarding class rings. Each junior will bring home a packet of information for each family to review. The representative will return a week later to take orders for anyone who wishes to purchase a ring. 


    • 9-11 grade students if you are not currently in Cosmetology courses and would like the opportunity to sign up for 24-25 school term interviews, please use the QR code below to register BEFORE Feb 29th... 




    • SENIORS, The Mercedes Mechatronics and Automotive Tech Program applications are open now. If you are interested in applying and need help, please see Mrs. Mac this week. Students can go to www.learnmercedes-Benz.com to apply, or they can use the links on the Shelton State Website. 



    • 2ND ANNUAL Freshman/Sophomore vs. Junior/Senior Powderpuff Games are coming up! This will be an in-school game where girls play, and boys cheer them on! If you are interested in participating as a player or a cheerleader, come and scan the QR code outside of room 1303. 


    • The TCHS Beta Club is hosting a donation drive to support Tuscaloosa’s Caring Days. Wish list items are posted on signs around the school and outside Mrs. Schmandt’s door. The donation drive will run through March 1st. Items may be dropped off to Mrs. Schmandt in room 1507. 


    • TCHS Beta Club is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year. Any current 10th or 11th grade student interested in joining National Beta Club may apply by scanning the QR code on the flyers around school or outside Mrs. Schmandt’s room (1507). Applications are open through March 1st. 


    • Are you interested in working backstage for this year’s spring musical? Then pick up a stage crew application outside Mrs. Schmandt’s room (1507). Applications are due March 8th, and show dates are April 18th and 19th 


    • Early College and Dual Enrollment open enrollment for Summer 24 will start March 1stAll students new and returning must complete and return a Participation form in order to participate.  Forms can be located in the Dual Enrollment folder in Schoology, on the TCHS website under Quick Links- Dual Enrollment or outside the Counseling Suite by the elevator or Scan the QR code belowAll forms must be returned to Mrs. Mac by APRIL 1st....you can email to jmcgillivray@tcss.net or drop off in the main officeIf you plan on taking a Dual Course through Shelton this Summer, scholarship funds are limited-  so get your application in ASAP so we can get approval forms done in Early March
