We would like to congratulate Jayden Taylor, Elizabeth Beard, Emma Watson, and Jon Marshall Kirby for representing our band program at the All-state Conference this past weekend. These students completed an audition and were ranked as best in state to secure a spot at this prestigious event.
We would also like to congratulate Eric Silver, Jackson Joiner, Matt Nelson, Jordan Hallman, Jessie Prestridge, Alex Nelson, Jayden Taylor, Elizabeth Beard, Emma Watson, and Jon Marshall Kirby for representing our band program at the District 5 Honor Band this weekend. These students completed an audition and were ranked as best in the greater West Alabama area. Thank you to all of these students for representing the band program!
The Roaring Twenties Prom will be held this Friday, April 23rd from 8pm till 11pm at the Tuscaloosa River Market. Everyone MUST bring their ID to enter prom. Tickets and favors can be picked up on Thursday April 22nd during lunch. If you have not bought a ticket and would like to attend, ONLY juniors and seniors can pay $250 cash at the door.
Don't want to go to Prom, but need something fun to do this Friday? Softball will be hosting several teams and a drive -up crawfish boil at the TCHS softball field. They will begin selling delicious corn, sausage and crawfish boxes at 4pm. The cost is $10.00 per box. You can stay and hangout to watch our girls play at 4pm and 8 pm for the low, low cost of $8.00. An entire night of fun for less than $20!
The University of Alabama has asked us to communicate their specific guidelines for upcoming prom and graduation pictures. If you decide you would like to take photos at the President's Mansion, please see the guidelines on Schoology.
- You must email email@example.com first to let us know the specific date and time you will be taking photos as well as the number of people with you. Any other inquiries should also be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- If the mansion is in use for a UA event, we will be happy to recommend alternative locations such as Mars Spring or Riverwalk.
- No parking in the driveway.
- The Mansion steps cannot be utilized.
- All persons shall stay in front of the Mansion.
- All should be cautious, aware, and understanding that the President does reside at the President’s Mansion, and therefore, may be entering or exiting the property.
- The property is monitored 24/7.
- Props, confetti, etc. shall not be used. Nothing should be left on the Mansion grounds.
- The President's Mansion lawn cannot be reserved so there is no guarantee that others won't be present.

The local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is offering two scholarships for $2,000 each. You can find the application and the requirements in the TCHS Senior Class of 2021 group in Schoology. Read the qualifications carefully. The deadline to have everything submitted is April 26, 2021.
Seniors interested in a $500.00 scholarship to the school of your choice should see Mrs. Fox to get an application for the Wells Fargo Bank Angie Reece Scholarship. To qualify for this scholarship, you must be a Senior at Tuscaloosa County High School. Applications are due by Friday, April 23, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.
The Mary Edna Anders Scholarship application is available from Mrs. Fox or in your Schoology senior class group. Two $1,000 awards are given to TCHS seniors who have a 3.0 GPA or higher and financial need. Deadline to apply is April 26.
The Pat Faucett Scholarship application is also available from Mrs. Fox or in your Schoology group for one TCHS senior who is planning to attend The University of Alabama. This is a $6,000 per year scholarship available for 4 years to total $24,000. Requirements are a 3.00 to 3.49 GPA, community & school activities, and financial need. Deadline to apply is April 26.
The PRIDE of Tuscaloosa organization is offering the Sandra Baker Scholarship for seniors in the surrounding area. It is a $1,000 scholarship for a student who has a history of helping others through community service, puts others before themselves, and displays leadership. To apply, an essay is required that proposes an idea or program plan for community outreach to decrease substance use and abuse. Two recommendations letters are required. See Mrs. Fox for more information. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2021.
If you are interested in dual enrollment at Shelton State, the last day to register for the summer session is April 28th. You may also sign up for the fall session now through June 12th.
Now is also the time to sign up for UA Early College! The last day to register for the summer session is April 26th. Applications for the fall session will be accepted now through June 12th.
Boys basketball tryouts for the 21-22 season will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, April 27, 28, 29 beginning at 3:15pm in the TCHS gym. Students need to sign up with Coach Weeks by Friday, April 23. You must have an up to date physical with you to give to Coach Weeks before you try out.
Girls' basketball tryouts will be after school on Tuesday May 4th till 5:30. We will have a skills day that you can participate in to prepare yourself for tryouts on the 3rd. You must have a Physical to tryouts. If you have any questions, please come see Coach Haas in room 1310.
Summer school applications are now available. Courses are available for recovery, obtainment, or advancement. Applications are on Schoology, in the front office, and outside Mrs. Swindle’s room 2411.
