The Alabama Department of Education has created a waiver allowing seniors who meet eligibility criteria (on-campus or remote) to qualify for early graduation. This waiver reduces the length of time that eligible seniors are required to stay on campus each school day. Be mindful that we will be extremely limited in our ability of changing schedules for morning or afternoon only classes. The Process, after you filled out the above link:
- The form – all three pages – must be completed in their entirety and require signatures of the principal, parent and student on page three
- A transcript audit signed by both the principal and counselor must be attached – with a transcript showing the student’s current schedule
- A copy of verification of a student’s CCR Indicator being met must be attached
Parents will initiate this process by filling out the link above. The school will process and complete the three (3) above steps to verify eligibility. The deadline to fill out the link is August 20, 2020 with no exceptions.
"Special Senior Exception/Exemption for Early Release Memorandum Waiver
This unique Senior waiver option is available for the 2020-2021 school year as a result of COVID-19. The waiver is only applicable to rising seniors who have met minimum graduation requirements. The purpose of the waiver is to support the efforts of schools to decrease student contact time and implement proper social distancing measures".
