Ms. Mary Elizabeth Towns

Hello!  My name is Mary Elizabeth Towns!  This is my third year teaching and my second year at Tuscaloosa County High!  I am so excited to be back at County High working with your students.

I’m originally from Oneonta, Alabama.  I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor’s degree in high school education with a concentration in general social sciences in April 2019.  I graduated from UAB with a Master’s degree in high school education in August 2020. I hope to return to school soon to pursue another degree.

In my free time, I read quite a bit. I read lots of genres, but I tend to focus on historical topics or romance.  I can also be found watching a new show on Netflix or Disney.  I love music, and I have played an instrument my entire life.  I sing in the choir at my church as well.  I am an only child, so I spend quite a bit of time with my large extended family.

I currently teach geometry with data analysis, AP government and politics, and AP macroeconomics at TCHS.  I also serve as an SGA advisor.

I look forward to working with each of you and getting to know each of you! I’m excited about this school year, and I'm excited to be at Tuscaloosa Country High School! Go Wildcats!!

  • Geometry Calculator Information

Students need to have a scientific calculator for this class.  I recommend the Texas Instruments TI-30Xa or the Texas Instruments TI-30XIIS.  I have included examples below.  They can be found at most major retailers.

There will be class calculators available for students to use in case of emergency.  However, students should not rely on using the class calculator every day.

If you are financially unable to purchase a calculator, please let Ms. Towns know and your student can borrow a class calculator.
