Hello! My name is Mary Elizabeth Towns! This is my second year teaching and my first year at Tuscaloosa County High! I am so excited to be here working with your students.
I’m originally from Oneonta, Alabama, and I have lived there most of my life. I have also lived in Birmingham and Prattville, but Tuscaloosa is a new place for me to live! I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor’s degree in high school education with a concentration in general social sciences in April 2019. I graduated from UAB with a Master’s degree in high school education in August 2020. I hope to return to school in the spring semester to pursue another degree.
In my free time, I read quite a bit. I read lots of genres, but I tend to focus on historical topics or romance. I can also be found watching a new show on Netflix or Disney. I love music, and I have played an instrument my entire life. I sing in the choir at my church as well. I am an only child, so I spend quite a bit of time with my large extended family.
I look forward to working with each of you and getting to know each of you! I’m excited about this school year, and I'm excited to be at Tuscaloosa Country High School! Go Wildcats!!
