    Welcome to Kindergarten!

I am Katrina Plyler and I like long walks in the mountains,  most dogs, and every single episode of Bluey. I do not like Tuesdays, rude people (bless their hearts), rubber bands, and pens without tops.  I live in Fosters, Alabama with my husband Stephen and our "only child" Atlas. He is a 3 year old Brittany Spaniel and he is living his best life on every chair, blanket, and bed in our house.

I taught 6 years in Memphis, TN and when the opportunity came to move to Tuscaloosa in 2004, we jumped at the chance.  We love living "in the country" of Tuscaloosa County and look forward to many years here with our family.

I currently teach Kindergarten and I think it is the best job in this world. Teaching children how to read, count, and be nice people are the best parts of teaching! I love seeing the drastic changes in children's academic, emotional, and social growth between August and June. It is truly a joy to come to Flatwoods each day.

When I am not teaching, I'm either lifting weights, running, cooking, taking pictures, or reading.  I also enjoy cooking and writing a healthy living blog which allows me to rattle on about things I am passionate about and improve my photography skills.  When school is over in the summer, we head out west. Our favorite place to be, other than Tuscaloosa, is Colorado.  Until then, ROLL TIDE ROLL, and I'm proud to live in Sweet Home Alabama.
