Hello and welcome back!
I am so excited about beginning my 2nd school year at Faucett-Vestavia as your school social worker. I look forward to working with you and your student(s) this year. I was born and raised here in the Tuscaloosa/Northport area. I completed both my Bachelor's and my Master's degree in Social Work at the University of Alabama. Roll Tide! I chose social work as a career because I wanted my career to be about helping improve the lives of others and creating hope in a world full of problems. I believe that by working together, we can help our students have a successful 2022-23 school year.
I want to take a moment to let parents and guardians know about some of the ways that I can be of assistance to you and your child/children. As the school social worker, my role is to assist in facilitating communication between home and school, provide assistance to students at school(brief individual or group counseling etc), and to assist parents with strategies that they can use at home with their children. I am also available to provide outside resources for children and families (ex.referrals to therapy and family services, financial assistance programs, food assistance, and other community resources).
I am available to talk to parents/guardians to address any questions or concerns. I am here to serve all students. Please do not hesitate to contact me, so that I may be of assistance to you and your family. My contact information is listed above.
Thank you for all you do to support the success and well-being of your child and our school. I look forward to working with you this year and helping your child learn and grow at Faucett-Vestavia Elementary School.
