Hello. My name is James Butler and I teach 6th grade here at N.I.S. This is my 21st year teaching overall. All 21 of those years have been spent in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. I am a proud alumni of both the University of West Alabama (B.S. Elementary Education and A.D.N. in nursing) as well as the University of Alabama (M.A. and Ed.S. in Educational Admisistration). In addition to teaching, I also work part-time during the school year as a registered nurse at DCH. I completed a Masters degree in Pastoral Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2021and was licensed and ordained into the ministry in October.  I have many hobbies, but my favorites are hunting, fishing, reading, and UA (ROLL TIDE) and UWA (GO TIGERS) athletics. My bride of 20 years,  Misty, is the bookkeeper at Huntington Place Elementary. I have four children: Mary Beth (12th grade), Annie Leigh (11th grade), Jamie Alyce (9th grade), and Zach (7th grade). I attend and am an active member of Northport Baptist Church. I look forward to spending your sixth grade year with you.
