    It's Homecoming week at TCHS!  The theme is County High Strong, In Spite of It All! Today is character day! 

    Tuesday- tropical day 

    Wednesday- Holidays 

    Thursday- Wildcat wars- Seniors wear black; juniors wear gray; sophomores wear white; freshmen wear blue 

    Friday- Fancy day- dress to impress 

    Today is the start of the door/hallway decorating competition! There will be one department and one door to win! The doors/hallways will be judged on Friday and the winner announced at the pep rally/alumni program. Paper for decorating is available in the library.  

    The Battle of the Wildcats will take place on Thursday, October 1st from 9-10:30 am at Wildcat Stadium.  The grade level with the most points wins. Classes will vote soon on representatives. Students not participating are encouraged to buy a ticket to go cheer on their classmates. Tickets will be sold for $5 on Wednesday during lunch.  

    The Homecoming parade will be Thursday evening at 6:00pm down Main Avenue in Northport. The parade begins at Civitan Park and ends at City Café. After the parade, come back to campus for the bonfire and food trucks. 

    The Alumni program and pep rally will be held on Friday at 9:00am at Wildcat Stadium.  

    The Homecoming Dance will be from 9:00-11:30pm in the TCHS courtyard. Students should enter thru the doors beside the cafeteria. Tickets are required. Ticket prices are: $5 cash or $6 on GoFan.co. The last day to purchase Homecoming dance tickets is during lunch on Friday, October 2. No tickets will be sold at the door.     SGA applications should be returned to Mrs. Norris room 2213 or via email mnorris@tcss.net by Friday, October 2.  Dues can be paid later in the year, but applications must be turned in by Homecoming.  This includes students that want to run for office after Homecoming.   

     

    Mu Alpha Theta is now accepting applications for the TCHS Math Honor Society. You must be taking or have completed Algebra II with Trig or be enrolled in a higher math class at TCHS. A minimum average of 85 in each math class (minimum 82 in PreAP) and an overall GPA of 85 is required and will be checked during the application process. Stop by Ms. Day's room 2414 for an application or email her the digital copy. 

     

    The band has kicked off their Simply Sheets fundraiser! If you or your family are looking to purchase high-quality bed sheets or bath towels, please find a band member for more information! 

     

    If any student is interested in joining the golf team this year, please stop by Mr. Jordan’s office to sign up. 

     

    ATTENTION SENIORS:  SENIOR T-SHIRTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO ORDER.  YOU MAY ORDER ONLINE AT HTTP://TCHSSENIORSTORE.ITEMORDER.COM OR SEE MRS. DUNN IN ROOM 1415.   THE COST IS $16 FOR S-XL; $18 FOR 2XL; AND $20 FOR 3XL. DEADLINE TO PLACE ORDER IS MIDNIGHT ON OCTOBER 2ND 

     

    All are invited to join the Fan Club- because we are all a fan of something. Applications for membership or for leadership roles on the Jedi Council may be found on the Fan Club page on the County High website. Our first event of the year will be marching in the Homecoming Parade. Permission slips are required. See Mrs. Black in the library or Mr. Buchwalter room 1404 for permission slips and more information.  

     

    Any student that has completed their 2nd or 3rd year in a Career Tech Program or is a program completer that has a 3.0 GPA is eligible to apply for National Technical Honor Society.  Please see Mrs. Workman room 1206 or Mrs. Mc room 1408 for application. Deadline to apply is October 23rd.- NO Exceptions 

     

    The TCHS Colorguard would like to invite any current TCHS student who is interested to try out for this spring’s Winterguard team on Saturday, October 10th from 9am-5pm in the TCHS gym. See Ms. Sturdivant in room 2609 for your application and physical form. Applications are due back to Ms. Sturdivant by Oct. 2. Email Ms. Sturdivant for more information ksturdivant@tcss.net 

     

    Do you love volunteering?  Do you want to develop initiative and leadership skills by serving your school and community?  If so, Key Club is the right club for you.  Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to build character, develop leadership, and stand for what’s right through service and volunteerism.  All members will pay a $25 membership fee.     Attention all Seniors: WorkKeys is coming Wednesday, October 7th.    All 12th graders are required to attend the fall testing in October. Free Practice tests are available at: https://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/workkeys-for-job-seekers/assessments.html  Students will be asked to create a generic login to access practice tests. 

     

    10th and 11th graders- Dual Enrollment dates are open- Please see Mrs. Mac in room 1408 or email jmcgillivray@tcss.net to sign up.

    As you know, this school year looks different than in the past. We will all be working together to keep everyone as safe as possible. Please note the new signage and hand sanitizing stations all over the school
