ParentSquare

New for the 2026-27 school year, TCSS will use ParentSquare for school-to-home communication.

ParentSquare provides a streamlined way for school administrators, teachers, staff, and families to receive and send information. ParentSquare keeps all your school communication in one place.

Previously, TCSS has used SchoolStatus. TCSS will now use ParentSquare.

Log In to ParentSquare

With ParentSquare, you can: 

  • Receive updates from your child's school via email, app, or text notification
  • Communicate in your preferred language with automatic translation
  • View posts, photos, calendars, and important announcements
  • Send direct messages to teachers and staff
  • Sign up for conferences and school events

Getting Started With ParentSquare

Download the App

It’s easy to stay in the loop with the ParentSquare app. Download it now for iOS or Android devices.

Activate Your Account

Follow the link in your activation email/text, or sign up on parentsquare.com or via the ParentSquare app. (You must use the email address or cell phone number provided during enrollment or registration.)

Set Preferences

If you’re using the app, select the menu in the top left of the screen to set your language preferences and how often you want to receive notifications. If you’re using the website, select your name in the upper right.

When it comes to notifications, ParentSquare offers three options:

  • Instant: Receive all messages instantly

  • Digest: Receive all messages together in one daily digest

  • Off: No notifications are sent; check the app at your leisure

Please note: You will receive emergency notifications instantly. This includes weather-related cancellation messages.

If you reply “STOP” to opt out of text notifications, you cannot resume receiving text messages unless you text, “START” to 66458.

Sync Your Calendar

Select ‘Events’ from the bottom of the screen in the app and then ‘Subscribe’ to sync the district, school, classroom or group calendar to your phone’s calendar.

Opting Out of ParentSquare

ParentSquare uses the contact information parents and guardians provide when they register their student. You will receive notifications via email, text, phone call, and posts from the ParentSquare mobile app and ParentSquare portal. Standard text messaging rates may apply for all text messages.

You can opt-out of:

  • Emails: Click the Unsubscribe link in any email you receive.
  • Text Messages: Click the Opt-Out link in the first text message you receive from ParentSquare. You can also reply STOP to any subsequent text you receive.
  • Phone Calls: Contact your child's school office.  

To opt back in to emails and phone calls, please contact your child's school and provide your email and cell phone number. (For text messages, simply text "START" to 66458.) If you are not a TCSS parent or guardian and are receiving notifications in error, please contact us at (205) 342-2886.

Reminder: Even if you opt-out of receiving communication, you will still receive notifications for emergencies and other school information deemed important, such as attendance and lunch balances.
